Chickasha Public Schools

serve over 2,500 students from Pre-K through 12th grade.  The district has approximately 200 certified and 150 non-certified personnel helping to ensure the best education opportunities for Chickasha’s young citizens.

Chickasha has one Early Childhood Center which houses Pre-K, Kindergarten and first grade, two Elementary Schools, one Middle School and one High School. Gifted classes or enrichment programs are available at every level, including advanced placement for Chickasha High School students. Each of the school sites are accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Chickasha Public Schools district also offers an Alternative School as well as an Adult Education Center.

Chickasha schools boast the following accomplishments: 35 percent of teachers are working toward or hold a Master’s Degree. CHS was named to “America’s Best High Schools” in May 2010 by Newsweek Magazine. CHS offers foreign language curriculum that includes Spanish, French, and American Sign Language. CHS offers a comprehensive advance placement program allowing students the opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school. Students have a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including football, basketball, softball, track, golf, tennis, swimming, wrestling, soccer, cheer, volleyball, archery, and others. Equally broad ranges of opportunities are found in marching bands and concerts, vocal music, drama, robotics and vocational agriculture. Many of Chickasha’s athletic and academic teams advance to district, regional and state levels.

The Chickasha High School Activity Center

at 101 John P. Cowan Dr., has the capabilities of seating 1,500 people in the gymnasium and 1,000 in the auditorium. This facility is used to host multiple CHS events and also offers a quality facility for community concerts, theatrical productions, and meetings.

The patrons of Chickasha strongly support the schools in all its endeavors. Building upgrades, technology and transportation issues have all been supported through previous community bond issues. Chickasha has outstanding community support with many volunteers, PTO and Booster Clubs and the Chickasha Public School Foundation. Chickasha pride is evident throughout the community.

Epworth Christian School and Day School

and Day School has continually been recognized by the Chickasha community as the “best daycare center” in the area. Providing excellent care for infants through 4 year olds, children receive quality care while learning early childhood developmental skills. Epworth’s After School Program provides age-appropriate activities and tutoring for students from Bill Wallace and Grand Elementary School.

James Caraway Christian Academy

USAO

unusual status and performance as a public institution has attracted extensive independent and unsolicited recognition from multiple national observers of higher education. Together, they praise the value of the school’s combination of academic quality, accessibility and affordability, and its record of especially enhancing the social, economic, and financial prospects of its graduates. The Washington D.C. education think-tank, American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) annually reviews and evaluates the required core curriculums of over a 1000 colleges and universities nationwide. Grading its content and quality from A to F, USAO is one of only 23 institutions in the United States on which ACTA bestows an “A” grade.

Kiplinger Personal Finance Magazine lists USAO on its exclusive 2014 national roll of the 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges” in America. Based on a combination of academic quality and cost, Kiplinger also ranks USAO first on its national list of the “25 Best College Values Under $30,000 a Year, 2014”.

USAO is the only school in Oklahoma that US News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges assigns to an institutional category, “National Liberal Arts Colleges,” that includes many of the most prestigious and expensive private colleges and universities in the nation. Only five percent in this group, which includes the three major military academies, are public. In recent years, US News has also included USAO on its roster of “Least Debt” for graduates.

Using US News institutional classifications in its “2015 College Rankings,” the national journal Washington Monthly ranks USAO fourth in the country for “serving the public good” by encouraging “upward social mobility” – a rank based on a formula that factors a school’s graduation rates of lower income federal Pell Grant recipients to net price.

A web-based national resource on campus and online higher education, TheBestSchools.org, has designated a 2014 list of “100 Best U.S. Colleges and Universities by State.” For Oklahoma, the organization includes the University of Oklahoma and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
